Lucky enough to be under 25? If so, you will need to pay a small surcharge when hiring a car. The fee and age policy differs depending on the country you’re hiring the vehicle in, so be sure to check the terms & conditions when making your booking, whether you’re doing so online or in a Europcar station.
If you’re new to driving, each time you get behind the wheel can feel like an adventure. Remember though, there are a few things you can do to make sure you stay safe when you’re out on the road.
When it comes to renting a car, give yourself time to get used
to the new vehicle. Familiarizing yourself with the new controls and positions of pedals, mirrors and seats can make all the difference to the quality of your journey.
Is your seat at the right height? Are all your passengers seated comfortably with their seatbelts fastened? Are the doors secured? Do you know where the lights are positioned?
Making little checks like this will help you feel more confident when you set off. Remember, Europcar staff can answer any questions you may have about your rental car.
Another great way to prepare is to research the journey that you’re about to take. If you’re used to city roads and are planning on heading out to the country, remember that the two are very different. Take it slow, and keep your eye out for hazards at all times.
